Oceanic Guild Midian have had a cracker of a week tackling Explosive Conflict in Hard Mode, and as of tonight have got quite a ways. They’ve downed three out of four to be exact, knocking over Denova this evening:

After multple 3-5% wipes on Firebrand and Stormcaller on Sunday night our core team returned to Denova on Monday with the right mindset and group composition. With only a few wipes we managed to kill them before enrage hit, this fight will test your co-ordination and execution as a raiding team.
Following on to Colonel Vorgath there was some noticable changes in the fight however nothing we couldn’t handle, this was mainly a DPS check and the strat used was slightly different again to increase our DPS as required.
Good work to everyone on managing Server/Oceanic First 3/4 16HM Denova, we are going to push hard for Kephess next reset and hopefully claim the Server & Oceanic first kills for him 16HM.

Hi Insurgent – off the top of my head I’ve covered Remnants achievements 4-6 times since launch, this is the first for Midian that I recall. Also, Remnants and another guild got a mention for recent achievements on the last podcast.
We’re not a publication with paid staff and we literally receive 20-100 emails a day with info. So sometimes your achievements will get coverage, other times they won’t. Once Rupert Murdoch throws some money our way I’ll be sure to have someone paid to be on the guild achievement beat 😉

Firebrand and Stormcaller is THE hardest fight in that place we had a look at Kephess and managed to progress real fast on him compared to the other fights so we should see a kill soon. I’m in the process of writing up some detailed 16M guides to help the community and will be releasing HD videos of the fights.

Kephess is a very easy fight once you get up to him – The DPS check in Minesweeper prepares you for this encounter. The only ball-breaker was the final phase damage from GOTA which is apparently a joke in 16-man.
It’s been fixed for 16-man however It’s now bugged in 8-man after the latest patch was doing some reading up earlier on the SWTOR forums before they went down.
Yeah, the GOTA damage in 8-man makes it rough. There are guilds out there who have done it, but these kills were done with solid classes (ie: Maras, BHs ect) that have strong defensive CDs. It’s near-certain death for Snipers and Sorcs.
The SWTOR forums are full of whining pre-teens… So all the people saying 8-man is impossible just aren’t trying hard enough (or aren’t good enough).
