First oceanic clear of all SWTOR hard modes?

The hard-core folks at Oceanic guild Redemption have achieved a full clear of SWTOR hard modes. You can tell that after presumably quite a few attempts on Eternity Vault’s SOA in hard mode, there was some relief at getting the job done:

Here’s the kill shot itself:

It’s an impressive achievement, whether it’s an oceanic first or not. It’s also a short-lived achievement as in a little over 24 hours there’s four more bosses in Karagga’s Palace to down. And like any guild I’m sure that’s just the way they like it!

Any other guilds that have nailed this, feel free to post your claims in comments!

Reverence

Guild website

www.reverence.co

History of your guild’s name

Reverence was launched early 2012 as an Oceanic Guild for Australians and New Zealanders. We launched on the Wall of Light Server however have the intention of expanding the guild onto several other servers in the future.

The guild’s leadership team are all experienced MMO gamers with previous guild leadership experience and an aligned vision for the guild’s future!

Reverence is a people focused guild created to provide an environment where members can interact, share knowledge and work together on quests.

Just 2 weeks after launch the guild has sky-rocketed to over 200 active members and growing fast with an average of 30 members online at any one time.

What sort of guild do you intend on being?

Reverence is a guild aimed at steady progression through to end-game content. We are a tight-knit team that enjoys challenging ourselves, and pushing the boundaries to meet our goals and objectives.

The guild is not one person, or the officers, but rather the team of members as a whole. Members should conduct themselves with maturity and respect both inside and outside of guild affairs, as the actions reflect on the entire guild.

Every member is important, and helps to shape the future of the guild, and its success.

Why did you choose to be a part of the Republic?

After careful consideration we decided that your typical republic member in general seemed to be more active and mature than the Sith. In essence we wanted the core membership base to be experienced gamers who are regularly online. This gives us a better opportunity to deliver on our long-term goals.

You have one minute to convince someone they should be in your guild – what would you say to them?

Reverence offers a friendly and social environment for members to share items, group together and achieve common goals. Being involved in our guild provides a greater level of emersion in the game and will be particularly useful when players require assistance completing some of the more challenging quests.

We have a high caliber of mature members that are always willing to lend a hand and a great leadership structure to ensure our standards and values are maintained and the guild’s community reputation remains strong.

What are your predictions for the first 6 months of the guild’s existence post-launch?

Initially we intend on establishing a cohesive and tight-knit membership base providing our core members an opportunity to get to know each other through our Mumble server and website.

Once the core guild foundations have been established we want to share our experience with the wider community by developing video and audio resources stored on our website. These resources will be designed to assist new players or guilds work through the different elements of SWTOR gameplay.

Our intention is to establish a strong reputation in the wider community and stand out as a recognised guild, which attracts like-minded individuals from outside the servers in which the guild resides.

History of your guild’s name

Originally we were known as Kangaroos with Frickin Lazerbeams as a corp in Eve Online. If anyone has played it they will probably have heard of us at one point or another. We participated in two annual alliance tournaments there and had lots of fun. A lot of us are looking for something fresh and it seemed only fitting to change it from Lazerbeams to Lightsabers.

What sort of guild do you intend on being?

We are pretty casual but are keen on end game content, PvP and mainly just like having a laugh. We all enjoy our beer so there’s plenty of good times on Teamspeak. We have been known to occasionally crack out the old rhythm augmentation droid and spontaneously break into all out raving.

Why did you choose to be a part of the Empire?

Being evil is loads of fun. Down to the little things like the interrogation droid pet, the dark side is just plain better!

You have one minute to convince someone they should be in your guild – what would you say to them?

If you’re keen to chill on TS and play with a casual bunch of guys, then this would be for you. We would love to have some more diversity and more classes in the guild and we’re always happy to help newer players with class missions and leveling that can otherwise get a little frustrating.

What are your predictions for the first 6 months of the guild’s existence post-launch?

We don’t really have any specific aims in the Guild as of yet other than hit lvl 50 and smash out some hard dungeons and whatnot. Definately some PvP is gonna happen as well, we are all keen as mustard for that. And if we get enough people we would love to start an in-guild PvP tournament with some good old 2v2’s and 4v4’s.

Unconfirmed Oceanic First: 4/5 cleared Eternity Vault Hard Mode

Those dynamos over at Remnants have continued their progress from a full normal mode Eternity Vault clear a few days back:

Remnants ventured into Eternity Vault Hard Mode last night for the first time, which is a significant step up from the Normal Mode. After coming off the high that they experienced from being Oceanic first by dropping 5/5 bosses in Normal Mode, they have now pushed through to carry out Oceanic first kills in the Hard Mode of Eternity Vault, downing 4/5 bosses!

All that is left is “Soa – The Infernal One”, who doesn’t stand a chance with this team beating down the door!

The team: Narboon, Korbainethor, Krelliath, Klinda, Chair, Elgordomedico, Cheewy, Skandus

Here’s one of the pics (click on it for the full goodness):

Sounds like the full clear is imminent. As always, we’re keen to hear from other guilds who are doing well in either early or end content to let us know and we’ll plug your progress!

First Oceanic clear of Eternity Vault? [Updated]

I had Insurgent from Oceanic guild Remnants drop me a line with an interesting tidbit:

Remnants have now cleared all 5 bosses in Normal 8 man Eternity Vault. Just letting you know, we believe it may be an Oceanic first, but this is not confirmed.

Even if it’s not an Oceanic guild first, it’s still quite an achievement. You can see our previous spotlight on Remnants here.

We’ve asked for some pics of the run, so watch this space. Any other guilds out there who’ve achieved the same, post your claim in comments!

UPDATE: You can view the announcement from Remnants on their website.

Here’s the key details:

The team plugged hard at it all night. With a wipe at 2012 HP left on Soa, lots might have decided to call it a night, but not this team. This team didn’t, and at midnight (that’s 12:00AM GMT +11, for those wanting to play the “what time is it there” game) Soa was finally killed.

The team: Narboon, Korbainethor, Krelliath, Skandus, Chair, Hannarr, Hairspray, Elgordomenico.

A special mention goes to Xaem for sitting out to allow for the progression.

Here’s a pic from the final kill of Soa – The Infernal One (click on image for the full size):

Over to you: are you surprised how quick some of these things are being achieved?

History of your guild’s name

Some of the founding members are long time MMO friends, starting in Neverwinter Nights, then on to WoW where we stayed for many years with various side projects in to Rift and others. We brainstormed several names, had a vote, and this one was the winner as it best represented what we stand for.

What sort of guild do you intend on being

We are a friendly, relaxed and slightly crazy group of people that enjoy each other’s company and the unity and camaraderie that comes from playing a game we all enjoy together. We’ll start off quest grinding, enjoying the breadth of all levels and working towards one day conquering the Republic……..Muh Ha Ha

Why did you choose to be a part of the Empire?

Clearly the dark side is the fun side, who doesn’t want to be naughty and evil ?!!

You have one minute to convince someone they should be in your guild – what would you say to them?

We are a guild of 18+ friends and family who will play Star Wars The Old Republic to RELAX and have FUN. We understand that people live REAL lives and have priorities outside the game.

Remember when playing games was something you did for enjoyment?

If your previous MMO experience turned into a Job with constant pressure, instead of a Game where you can relax and chill with friendly like-minded people, and you want to get back to playing a game for recreation then look no further.

We are primarily an Oceanic Region Guild, based in Australia, however we do have members from all over the world, so please do not let your physical location dissuade you from applying.

What are your predictions for the first 6 months of the guild’s existence post-launch?

Normally by 6 months in a new MMO, we’ll have a bunch of us (old and new friends) max levelled and gearing up for end game content. We’ll have done a heap of stuff together already and have made some great new friends. We’ll have worked out various goals and have a bunch of master crafters, and have achieved various questing guild milestones along the way. There will have been lots of laughing and the normal trials & tribulations of a guild in a new game.

Unofficial Oceanic PvE Servers Announced

It’s been months in the making, but all of the Oceanic guilds that have worked together, have pulled off some unofficial Oceanic servers. Harbinger (US West) looks like being the primary PvE server, with Jekk’Jekk Tarr (US West) also having a lot of oceanic guilds on it.

For the stats geeks, you can see the numbers breakdown here.

It’s one of the final pieces of the pre-launch jigsaw for Oceanic guilds in particular, and well done to all the guilds who worked through the whole daisy-chain process!

Over to you: will you be jumping on one of these servers once the game goes live?

Unofficial SWTOR Oceanic PvP Server: The Swiftsure (US West)

With thanks to the dedicated Antispiral via our forums, the Oceanic Daisy Chain group have announced what the unofficial SWTOR PvP server is:

On behalf of the Oceanic Daisy Chain, I’d like to inform you all that the unofficial Oceanic PvP server for SWTOR has been chosen to be The Swiftsure (US West).

As you may be aware, the Oceanic region has been excluded from the official launch of SWTOR. That has not stopped us from building a sizeable and well organised community. Purely from the guilds signed up for the Official Pre-launch Guild Program, Oceanic PvP numbers stand at:

Republic = 751
Sith = 1210
Total registered TOR GHQ Accounts = 1961

Obviously, these numbers are only going increase.

So consider this a call to arms to all Oceanic players/guilds. We ask that even if your guild has been allocated to another server for deployment, that you reconsider and join us on The Swiftsure, for what will likely be one of the best communities in the game!

So if you’re wanting to roll your toons on a PvP server where you know a lot of other Oceanic players will be, then Swiftsure is the place to go.

Name of guild

The Emperor’s Reach

Guild website

http://www.swtor.com/guilds/32522/emperors-reach

History of your guild’s name?

We wanted a name that could represent a possible elite and shadowy unit within the Sith Empire, similar to “The Emperor’s Hand” from Star Wars novels. We aren’t a role-playing guild, but the name is cool.

What sort of guild so you intend on being?

Mostly PVE based with a focus on endgame raiding. We welcome both regular raiders and people who may not necessarily be able to attend every raid such as shift workers. Adjustable raid difficulty means that we can tune the difficulty to the group, which will hopefully mean turning it to 11 for our main team. Experienced WoW raiders who are focused on optimising their class will provide guidance to others. We are a mature and friendly guild that does not tolerate harassment of other players.

Why did you choose to be a Sith guild?

As we will primarily be focussed on PvE, it will be nice to play against a faction of noobs for our organised PvP sessions.

You have one minute to convince someone they should be in your guild – what would you say to them?

Grownups with real lives and real commitments that enjoy working as a team to topple progressively more difficult content are welcome. If you enjoy a laugh on vent without hearing screaming rage children and like a group focus, come along.

What are your predictions for the first 6 months of the guild’s existence post-launch?

Different players will enjoy different playstyles and foci. I predict that we will have full clears of current content on lower difficulty levels and be progressing to harder difficulty levels. I also predict that we will have dedicated PvP players and even social players who contribute to the guild through sharing of crafted items and expertise.

Name of guild

Shadow Sith

Guild website

http://www.shadowsith.com

History of your guild’s name

‘Shadow Sith’ makes us sound a little evil and mysterious, giving the impression we will be lurking in the shadows waiting. We also refer to ourselves as being a ‘Clan’ before being a ‘Guild’ – we think this represents our Sith-Cartel organisation more accurately. Having the ‘SS’ initials for our guild name is also a bonus.

What sort of guild so you intend on being?

Focus on three main fronts: PvE Progression Operations, Competitive PvP Warzones and PvP Open-World Server. So we will cater for the casual and hardcore players and those in-between, giving our membership several participation options.

We also have several Clan sub-groups called ‘Terror Cells’, which will be made up of groups of members from similar time zones, these groups may also have their own events and we also intend on holding internal events where Cell groups can compete with a view to improving our teamwork and game skills. We will also allow for some light RP.

Why did you choose to be Sith?

The bad guys are always more interesting characters and it can be way more fun to be evil!

You have one minute to convince someone they should be in your guild – what would you say to them?

“Release your anger and join what will become one of the meanest and most focused Sith groups in the Oceanic SWTOR community and together we will
hunt the Republic scum to the end of the galaxy.”

What are your predictions for the first 6 months of the guild’s existence post-launch?

Establishing an experienced close-knit group of members on all fronts of the game, with a view to building up quality operative and warzone teams.

Name of guild

Remnants

Guild website

http://www.remnantsgaming.com

History of your guild’s name?

The guild name spawned from the ashes of Dark Dominion which dissolved when the (World of Warcraft) US-Dreadmaul server opened in April 2008. Whilst some of Dark Dominion pre-emptively transferred to Dreadmaul, some stayed on Thaurissan and the guild was broken into two. The Remnants of this fragmentation banded together, under the leadership of Discryptor, to rebuild and return to their former glory. We have since evolved from a single WoW guild to a strong, player-focused gaming community with representation across a number of titles.

What sort of guild do you intend on being?

We intend on being a multifaceted guild, but one that is part of a greater community.

What do we mean by this?

Basically put, and as mentioned before, SWTOR isn’t the first game that Remnants has been a part of. It won’t be our last, either. We are a group of like-minded people who come together to play games and enjoy each others company. We always aim high with our progression and intentions, no matter the game, and generally achieve this position.

We also have our less hardcore side, and invite any who wish to be a part of this community to come along and join us. In doing this though, you aren’t just applying to be a part of our SWTOR guild, but a part of the Remnants Gaming community.

Why did you choose to be a part of the Empire?

We have always been on the “bad guy” side. For some reason we always seem to gravitate towards it. This doesn’t mean that we will only ever have players with characters on this side of the fence, as our guild members may well create characters on the Republic’s side, but we will only actively look at maintaining the guild on the side of the Empire. It’s just the way we roll.

You have one minute to convince someone they should be in your guild – what would you say to them?

It doesn’t matter what you are looking for in a guild. You want hardcore progression? You want to cruise along and see all of the Empire’s characters in depth, taking your time with each storyline? You want a great group of people to game with? You want it? You’ll find it as a part of Remnants Gaming.

We are an adult guild, and as such the conversations can go beyond PG levels. We like a laugh as much as the next person, and as such this guild is one where you need to bring your personality along with you. In saying this, we are not interested in people who need to express the size of their epeen. We like to act as an individual team, not as a team of individuals, and as such we are not interested in having anyone who does not have the interests of this guild at heart.

What are your predictions for the first 6 months of the guild’s existence post-launch?

There is no doubt that the first 6 months of this game will see all sorts of things going on. People may not like the game, people may level quickly and get bored, people may level slowly thus perpetuating the quick levelling people’s feeling of boredom, the content of the game may not captivate those who are coming from other games.

As always, Remnants will persist through the ups and downs. We will make things work. We will be evaluating how our team is going, we will identify those who wish to progress further than just the storyline (ie. move into the raiding scene), we will accept those who are casuals, and even accept that there are those who wish to move on.

It is intangible to predict what will happen with a game that has not yet been released. But we KNOW that we will be there, we will persist, we will achieve, and we will be.

History of your guild’s name?

A clan of mischievous masked-faced combatants fighting to protect their own and wreak havoc and revenge upon the evil wrong-doers of the world by any means necessary.

What sort of guild so you intend on being?

Hardcore 16 man raids with casual and hardcore 8 man raids (depending on numbers). Organised PvP

Why did you choose to be a Republic guild?

With 25+ highly experience MMO members playing, in our experience most people go with “The Good Guys” but have a lesser talent pool….we decided to take this path so our years of knowledge can be bestowed upon them (plus trooper gets a REALLY big gun!)

You have one minute to convince someone they should be in your guild – what would you say to them?

With so many players from top oceanic (and world) guilds in games like WoW, Aion, Darkfall and Mortal Online…the potential recruit has a minute to convince us!

What are your predictions for the first 6 months of the guild’s existence post-launch?

We will be known as a well organised, friendly and helpful group of players that people would want to be a part of. We aim for recruits that want more then just high end raiding…..we want team mates.
